Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad city is well-known for its rich cultural heritage and diversified culture. People of Ahmedabad are very passionate about celebrating each and every festive occasion. Jamnagar

Jamnagar, an ancient city with great history, is situated in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat around 302 km from Ahmedabad and 92 Kms from Rajkot. Today, Jamnagar is a charming blend of the old and the new with its ancient monuments and broad streets, imposing facades, and squares, which make it one of the most beautiful cities in the Saurashtra peninsula. Jamnagar is renowned for its silk, gold embroidery, silver ware, bandhani (tie-and-dye) fabrics that are renowned the world over. Nutcrackers (especially the ones made for betel nuts) made in Jamnagar are in great demand all over India. Jamnagar is the hometown of the world famous cricketers Ranjit Singh and Duleep Singh after whom the Ranji and Duleep Trophy are named in domestic Indian cricket.

Dwarka

Dwarka, on the west coast of Gujarat on the shore of the Arabian Sea, features in most of the legends surrounding Lord Krishna. It is from here that the grown Lord Krishna is supposed to have ruled his kingdom. Dwarka is a significant pilgrimage site for the Hindus.

Somnath

Somnath is famous among tourists for being home to one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. This religious town considered as very holy among Hindu pilgrims is located on the western coast of India. Somnath has high importance among religious tourists and pilgrims, who visit the magnificent Somnath temple to get blessings of Lord Shiva. The town of Somnath is also loved by travellers for its beautiful grey sandy beach that is located right next to the city temple.

Gir

The Gir National Park and wildlife sanctuary is located about 65 km south east in the Junagadh district of Gujarat. Gir National Park is one of the India’s finest wildlife sanctuaries located in Gujarat. This national park is set up in an area of 1412 square km. of lush deciduous forests. This national park was established on 18th September 1965 as a Forest Reserve to conserve the Asiatic lion. This sanctuary is the final refuge of the rare Asian lions which roamed freely two centuries ago throughout Middle East and some parts of India. Sasan, with a forest rest house, is the headquarters of the sanctuary.
